Building on America's Strongest Foundations
IMAGINE...Addressing the true issues underlying the achievement gap; Education as an avenue to freedom instead of a school to prison pipeline.
PICTURE THIS...Ownership of the learning process; Happy, engaged kids and teachers.
CONSIDER....Eighty percent of new businesses in the United States are formed by immigrants or children of immigrants. How many more enterprises and jobs could we have if our longtime population were freed from historical encumbrances and divisiveness to realize our fullest creative potential?
CONTEMPLATE...A truce in the culture war to recognize the interdependent nature of creativity and "response-ability"/initiative.
ENVISION...Education that embodies the rebirth of our nation on its strongest, truest, but sadly often reviled foundations.
YOU ARE INVITED to share, at this time through brainstorming and honest discussion, in the development of a vision for educational reform based on an honest and restorative view of our national history, nine principles fundamental to becoming an engaged learner, and a celebration of our nation's cultures which emerged with the blending of varied races and traditions, our Creole/Gullah/Melungeon/Mixed Race and other blended heritages.
