Tangential Supports to New Social Structures
This page is pretty much whatever links I find informative, creative, positive, uplifting, perhaps challenging. They do not necessarily relate to the charter school vision. Since charter schools cannot be faith-based, some postings here in fact are, for organizational, pragmaitc and legal purposes, completely separate. Except, that in reality everything is interconnected. We do not reside outside of a context and we ignore social, historical, cultural and spiritual contexts at our own peril. They are unavoidable, and they certainly exist in conventional organizations, so the underappreciated contexts deserve to be celebrated here. Tangents are good. Every good class I have ever taken has involved the discussion going off on a tangent. So enjoy the journey!
By the way, tangentially speaking, this is one of my cats, Sunflower. I have two cats, a snake and some fish, all rescues except for some of the replacement fish, that came to me since my move to Greensboro. The tank of fish was left in my apartment. The fish had their first set of babies while I was away visiting my Great Great Grandmother Mollie's grave. The snake, a little ball python, came from a teacher who didn't want him anymore. I renamed him Simbi, for a spirit in African traditional beliefs. He enjoys making new friends at city parks. My other kitty, Maya Rose, was found on the Feast of the Assumption in 2009, abandoned at age 4 weeks on a hot sidewalk in Wilson, NC. The vet did not think she would live, but I fed her canned kitten puree mixed with kitten replacement milk and now she is a healthy fluffy cat and the apple of Sunflower's yellow eyes..
